Hi! I’m Jen Keenan and I help divorced women with the feelings of negativity following the breakdown of their marriage. Welcome to my little corner of the web, where we work to Detoxify After Divorce! Here, you’ll find a bit about how to have a positive mindset, how to take care of yourself so you can take care of others, and you’ll find tangible resources to help you post-divorce.
But before we get into all of that, let’s get to know each other a little more.
When I was 16 years old, I met the man who would become my first husband. We didn’t, however, get together until a couple of years later, when I was 18. I didn’t realize it until later, but this was strategic on his part. Because 12 years after that, when we were married and had a 1 year old, my now 42-year-old husband found a new 18 year old to catch his fancy.
I decided to start to Detoxify After Divorce because it would have been all too easy to fall into the trap of negativity and not feeling good enough. Along the way, I found that my story was, sadly, not that uncommon among women.
So, I decided to take what I am learning along my journey and offer it to you as a resource. I had often thought in the early days how nice it would be to have a community of women who truly understood what I was feeling. I was unable to find that, so I have decided to create it for you. The feelings of loneliness, of not feeling understood, of shame and guilt are unique to a divorced woman, particularly one who has been cheated on, and no one but another divorced woman can truly understand them. Together, we can all take the journey to better ourselves, and eventually feel grateful for the experience of divorce.
I’m so glad you’ve decided to visit my little corner of the internet, and I can’t wait to help you start detoxifying your life to become the best version of your beautiful self.
